42nd Avenue Station. When you step foot into this locally owned coffee shop and deli at 4171 Lyndale you will not be accosted into buying mass produced "corporate logo" coffee mugs or overpriced "frou-frou" espresso machines. Rather, you will be welcomed into this cozy neighborhood nook with the smell of fresh cinnamon "monkey bread," a chunky soft couch to kick back on, and a selection of coffee drinks and food items that put the big guys to shame. One of the owners, Robert Rice, hand-harvests the wild rice that goes into these tasty one-of-a-kind recipes, like wile rice yogurt parfaits, wild rice soup and wild rice quiche. They also have an outdoor street patio to enjoy the warm weather as well as Wi-Fi capability.
